
Over 500 youths from all 10 provinces in Zimbabwe have graduated from the Youth Service in Zimbabwe (YSZ) programme after completing a 6-month vocational training course at Guyu Vocational Training Center, marking a milestone for Intake 1 of 2025.
The YSZ programme empowers young people to become responsible, patriotic, and resilient citizens, fostering a strong national identity and respect for core values, equipping them for productive lives.

The programme Introduced by President E.D Mnangagwa in May 2024, the Youth Service in Zimbabwe programme has graduated over 2000 youths, who are now championing the fight against drug and substance abuse and other criminal activities.

Youth Service Training aims to nurture and instil a spirit of patriotism among the country’s youth. The programme aims to develop and enhance patriotism by promoting volunteerism, civic responsibility and loyalty to the nation through national orientation training.
The mandate of Youth Services, under the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, is to mainstream youth participation in national development and equip them with technical and vocational skills for employment creation and self-sustenance.
