At least 16 people have reportedly died after a Toyota Quantum they were travelling in suddenly caught fire and exploded on Thursday afternoon.
The incident happened along the BulawayoโBeitbridge Road, between Chipangali and the Gwanda tollgate, near the Much Binding area outside Bulawayo. It is believed that the kombi may have been carrying explosives when it burst into flames in the middle of the road.
According to the Police, the explosion occurred between 1pm and 2pm.
Police confirmed that 16 people died in the tragic incident.
